2010 Beach Baptisms

We had a fully blessed time watching people profess publicly that they serve Jesus! Their commitment was proven to be real and strong by the cold water.  ;-)

2010 Kids Camp Summary

Summary of Kids Camp 2010

It’s Friday at 3:00 pm; the sun is blazing and there we are at kid’s camp literally building our shelters. That’s right, we put the camp theme, “Survival,” to the test as we mounted cardboard to each side of the EZ-ups and finished it off with black mesh around the top. Amidst the somewhat chaos of trying to build our shelters God was preparing the hearts of everyone.

Fun visuals, application and the reading of God’s word brought the teachings to life for the kids. It’s not easy to capture a child’s attention, but God really gave the teachers wisdom in this area. The children were also given note cards, which helped them to focus and write down what God was speaking to them. While the teachings were a blessing, I believe the biggest blessing was hearing the children speak during the discussion time.

During the discussion times the children were asked questions about the teaching and what they learned. My favorite discussion time was after the children were taught about the Holy Spirit. Not many children understand, nor are taught about the importance of the Holy Spirit in their life. Upon hearing one child answer that we need the Holy Spirit to live for God my heart melted. I know that these children were given a foundation for a victorious Christian life.

Speaking of victory, I can’t forget to mention the games! Though my team came in last place, we had a blast! The most memorable game would have to be the chalk game on Friday night. Two teams battled it out as they threw chalk-dusted balls at the other team. The point of the game was to hit the other team’s symbol while keeping ourselves from being hit by the opposing teams chalk balls.

Some things we might want to take into consideration next year are: having a better system for the water/drinks. The children had to try and keep the same water bottle the whole time and it was a little difficult.  Another thing was having a First Aid kit available, and making its location known to all of the counselors/helpers. The Lord protected us this year, but it’s important to be prepared. Overall the camp was a huge blessing. I really believe the children walked away with a lot more insight on how to get to know God.

Praying For Daniel And Rick!

Tonight we were blessed with the opportunity to lay hands on Daniel and Rick! Daniel is headed back to South Korea to serve as a missionary in Daejeon. Rick has been given the opportunity to serve the Lord as a chaplain for the fire department. Pray for these men as they seek to obey God and His call upon their lives!

Remember Daniel, be faithful in the work that God has called you to!

1 Corinthians 4:2, Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.

Remember Rick, God is the One who goes before you!

Deuteronomy 31:8, And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

Click here to listen to the time of prayer, and what Daniel and Rick shared about the work that God is calling them to.

Sandoval Vow Renewal

We were blessed in the service last night to join together with Pat and Vicky as they celebrate 20 years of marriage! They renewed their vows with the congregation as witnesses, and then served us up some delicious refreshments! I love doing vow renewals as a part of service, because it reminds everyone that in Christ you can go the distance.

They also brought their wedding photo album for a few good laughs…I snapped a couple shots with my phone…not good quality, but enough to make me smile.
